A: The project is estimated at $25 million, with the cost being distributed among landowners and
municipalities of:
- Bradford West Gwillimbury
- King
- Caledon
- Newmarket
- East Gwillimbury
- New Tecumseth
- Simcoe County
- Ministry of Transportation
In 2008, the Services Board received a $10.2 million grant from the Ministry of Infrastructure and
Energy’s Municipal Infrastructure Investment Initiative (MIII). This helped offset some of the cost
allocated to the municipalities and landowners of the 65,000 acres within and surrounding the
Holland Marsh. The balance was distributed amongst the Ministry of Transportation, the County of
Simcoe, and OMAFRA.
